About Us

United Painters and Public Artists (UPPA), is an arts advocacy organization established by Artists to effectively represent and defend their interests.  Collectively UPPA represents over 400 years of mural production in sustaining the cultural patrimony of the City of Los Angeles. UPPA was founded by a diverse group of muralists of various generations and styles from across Los Angeles including Boyle Heights, Leimert Park, South L.A., Mid-City, Highland Park, San Fernando Valley, and East L.A.  This union resulted in the successful advocacy leading to the historically significant mural ordinance for the city of Los Angeles.
